Day 1: Boise, ID to Clarkston, WA via Enterprise, OR was a 340-mile day. I-84 out of Boise to Baker City was a stuporslab drone, but SR-203 to La Grande sure was a nice change of pace. SR-82 from La Grande to Enterprise was a rather unchallenging ride. ;^)

SR-82, from just outside the Lostin Tavern, runs southeast out of Lostine, OR to Enterprise.

Lostine Tavern with Kurt in the background. This is a cool place for burgers and suds.

Range Rider Tavern with a couple of HDs parked right behind the Chevron in Enterprise, OR.

Southbound SR-129 winding downwards towards Grande Ronde River in WA. This was the most enjoyable part of the ride that first day.

We stopped for cold ones at Boggan's Oasis. It had been a fairly cold day at least until we arrived here where it was warm for a change.

Bridge on SR-129 heading north over the Grande Ronde River towards Clarkston where we stayed overnight at Jan's digs.

Overhead view of the more challenging twisties (Rattlesnake Grade) on SR-3 in OR and SR-129 in WA.

Day 2: Clarkston, WA to Missoula, MT via Thompson Falls consumed 346-miles. We took Old Spiral Hwy from Clarkston to US-95 which dumped us out in Plummer for lunch. It was another cold and windy day so I only took a couple of pics.

Overhead view of SR-5 which was an absolutely amazing and beautifully banked motorcycle road from Hayburn SP to St. Maries, ID. That was the best motorcycle road on the 2nd day.

We followed SR-3 north out of St. Maries to eastbound I-90 and, after getting off in Kingston, had a little beer-bbq feast at the Snake Pit Restaurant & Saloon at Enaville Resort. Onwards to Missoula via Thompson Falls.

Gene, Grumbler, Kurt, and Bekah at Iron Horse Restaurant & Saloon in Missoula, MT. We stayed at the Val-U-Inn that night which I highly recommend.

Day 3: Missoula, MT to Clarkston, WA took a mere 220-miles. This was, by far, the most enjoyable ride of the entire trip between Lolo and Kooskia.

We decided to stop at the Lochsa Lodge in Powell, ID. Wanted to check it out as we had never been there before.

Sinclair gas station/store at Lochsa Lodge is quite popular with motorcyclists.

Great view from the deck right outside the saloon with pool table at Lochsa Lodge.

Here's what it looks like from patio of adjoining restaurant at Lochsa Lodge.

Smoke rises from chimney at one of the cabins at Lochsa Lodge. Many of the guests here have made repeat visits. We got back on US-12, and headed out to Lowell.

US-12 (Northwest Passage Scenic Byway) curls east from the Cougar Canyon Station in Lowell where the Middle Fork Clearwater River, Lochsa River, and Selway River converge.

Tom's 24-foot cabin cruiser berthed at Clearwater River in Clarkston, WA.

A trio of ducks swimming alongside the cabin cruiser. Probably hoping we'd toss some edibles their way.

Rooster's Restaurant overlooking Clearwater River where we had dinner that first night.

Red Wolf Crossing Bridge on SR-193 between Wawawai River Rd and US-12.

Columbia Queen Sternwheeler heading west on Clearwater River.

A barge transporting wood chips and sawdust by Port of Clarkston.

Day 4: Clarkston, WA to Boise, ID via McCall was a fairly long stretch of 377-miles. It was 110 degrees out by the time we reached Hells Canyon.

SR-129 south of Rattlesnake Grade enroute to Boggan's Oasis. Have to admit that I didn't care too much for going downhill on what seemed like an endless series of tight twisties.

We stopped for a hearty breakfast on Mike's tab after arriving at Boggan's Oasis that morning.

Southbound on SR-3 near Enterprise, OR with the Wallowa Mountains in background.

We grabbed cold ones on the patio at Outlaw Restaurant & Saloon in Joseph, OR. Unfortunately, we didn't have the time to see Wallowa Lake. ;^(

Chief Joseph Mountain behind downtown Joseph. This looks like a town up in the Canadian Rockies.

Cowboy on bucking bronco statue called 'Attitude Adjustment' in front of Joseph City Hall.

Hells Canyon Overlook off NF-39 in Oregon. Reminded me of Joseph Canyon Viewpoint on SR-3 earlier that day. Couldn't see the Hells Canyon Reservoir from here.

Hells Canyon convenience store and gas station in Oxbow, OR. Man, it was *hot* out there.

Grumbler riding alongside Oxbow Reservoir which parallels SR-71 from Oxbow to Brownlee Dam in Adams County, OR.

Kurt enters Washington County in Idaho via SR-71 while enroute to Cambridge where he grabbed US-95 back to Boise due to time contraints. Grumbler and Mike went north to McCall.

Brownlee Reservoir from SR-71 in ID just before the road turned inland.

A twisty section of SR-71 leading southeast towards Cambridge where we took a butt break.

Grumbler riding north on US-95 near Pine Ridge in Payette National Forest.

We took a butt break at the south end of Payette Lake in McCall, ID.

Payette Lake from patio of Toll Station Pizza & Pasta in McCall where we indulged in suds and grub that night on my dime.

Grumbler on southbound SR-55 to Cascade near dusk. We were plastered by badzillions of bugs along the Payette River to Horseshoe Bend after departing from Cascade that night. Was good to get home, and start thinking about the next trip to British Columbia with my 14-year-old daughter.
